- Brian Odhiambo disappeared mysteriously a month ago following an arrest by officers from the Kenya Wildlife Services. According to locals, two bodies have been retrieved from the lake this week.
The body of a middle-aged man has been discovered and retrieved from Lake Nakuru National Park. The discovery which happened on February 19, 2025 comes a month after 31-year-old Brian Odhiambo went missing allegedly in the hands of Kenya Wildlife Service in the same Park.
The body found floating on the lake, had fishing gear on it and had visible injuries on the face with fresh blood and was identified by other fishermen.
Brian's family, which was present during the retrieval exercise and later at the Nakuru Annex Funeral Home in identifying their loved one, is now left with many questions about what befell their kin.

On February 10, 2025, one fisherman, in the company of three others, noticed an unusual figure being carried by the waves during his fishing exercise. Curiosity led him to pull the sack and check its contents, only to find a body. The four were forced to flee after two rangers on patrol found them and retrieved a body.

It has been a treacherous month for Elizabeth Auma, Brian’s Mother, who saw her son being drugged into an awaiting vehicle in the Lake Nakuru National Park. Despite the incidents of two bodies floating on the lake, KWS has not issued any press statement concerning the matter or the whereabouts of Brian Odhiambo.
As the search for Brian Odhiambo, whether dead or alive, continues, Nakuru residents’ concerns are rising about who is responsible for the killings.
