• Natembeya claims that political leaders allege that he was an abductor, and a murderer who orchestrated the deaths of innocent Kenyans during the previous regime.

Trans Nzoia Governor, George Natembeya has released a statement concerning the dishonorable utterances by political leaders of the late Mama Anne Nanyama.

“During the sombre funeral of Mama Anne Nanyama Wetangula in Kabuchai Bungoma County, I was the subject of severe verbal attacks by some political leaders through the litany of insults and profanity towards towards my persona,” he said.

Natembeya claims that political leaders allege that he was an abductor, and a murderer who orchestrated the deaths of innocent Kenyans during the previous regime.

He has trashed the claims stating,” Let it be known that George Natembeya served as a diligent, honest, and truthful servant to the people of Kenya.

The former regional commissioner asserts that the reason some political leaders saw it worth insulting him was because he boldly told President William Ruto to order the end of abductions and command the release of the abducted youth.

“The families of these abducted youth are undergoing untold trauma, not knowing the whereabouts of their children. As some politicians dance merrily, enjoying the trappings of being leaders, a family doesn’t even have the appetite to drink a glass of water because they are in agony for not seeing their son who disappeared without a trace,” Natembeya noted.

Furthermore, the Trans Nzoia boss asserted that as leaders, they have a duty to remind state organs to adhere to the rule of law and the Constitution’s principles.

“These politicians lack emotional intelligence; they get carried away by euphoric cheers senselessly without assessing the unforeseen consequences of their lose mouths. I condemn the shameful utterances with the strongest terms possible. I will not be cowed by hired street hoodlums. The dream of freeing the Luhya community from the chains of egocentric politicians will not be deemed by corrupt politicians,” he added.

Citing the current state of abductions and high cost of living, Natembeya has acknowledged that Kenyans want an end to extra judicial abductions of young people. He has pointed to the fact that Kenyans are looking up to leaders to speak for them, calling onto these leaders, reminding them to fulfil the promises they made during campaigns.
