Since the onset of the impeachment process, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has encountered numerous problems. Even after the impeachment, the woes of the former second-in-command seem to have continued escalating.

In a recent controversial unfolding, details have emerged on how detective officers in unmarked Subarus tried to stop the ex-deputy President from attending a church service in Kahawa West Nairobi. According to Bishop JJ Gitahi of Founder Presthood Church, while preparing to go to church on November 10, 2024, at around 8 a.m., his home had unusual visitors with unmarked Subarus.

Detective officers warned and threatened the bishop not to allow the ex-deputy President to attend a church service in his church. According to Bishop JJ, the officers claimed Gachagua's presence was a breach of national security and that his presence in the church would have influenced the local community against the government.

However, the Bishop stood firm and allowed the service to proceed as planned; according to him, he was forced to change his car to travel to church. The ex-deputy President attended the church service accompanied by his wife and his allies, including former Laikipia County women rep Cate Waruguru and Kipipiri MP Wanjiku Muhiaa, among others.

In his speech, Gachagua insisted on peace and unity of the Mt. Kenya region and insisted on Gen Zs registering as voters.

“Tell the Gen Zs who are your children to register for IDs. Registering as a voter is a continuous exercise for those who have not yet registered should continue visiting the IEBC constituency offices,” said Gachagua.
