Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has announced that he has given up on pursuing Kenyan socialite Huddah Monroe. The MP took to Instagram to apologize to his constituents, for any offensive remarks he may have made.

In his post, he expressed frustration with the pressures of social media and declared, “These ones who want money, I'm not able; they will bring down my government. Let me go back to my kienyejis. I officially disassociate myself from this chick. Any comment I made that hurt any of my kienyeji, please forgive me; ilikuwa tu mambo ya social media. Forgive me, nyinyi ndio munawezana na mimi huyu anataka watu wa wash wash ndio wako na pesa ya kuharibu.”

Huddah Monroe wasted no time in responding, sharing a screenshot of a recent transaction where she returned 10,000 Kenyan shillings. She fired back, saying, “Mimi si kienyeji bro, tafuta size yako. This guy sent me 10,000 Kshs which I didn’t even notice. Usiniharibie jina coz of $80 dollars, bro. Wacha members wajue nilirudisha pesa ya chakula ya kuku.”

Not long ago, Salasya had openly expressed his admiration for Huddah, even penning a heartfelt poem for her on September 12, 2024. His romantic gestures included declarations of love and blessings, stating, “A few months ago, I was sure that I loved you as much as I thought was humanly possible. A week later, I realized that I was so wrong. I love you so much more… You, my darling, are the truth. 🤍 My Queen, see you later.”

Despite the MP's poetic overtures, Huddah has made it clear that financial stability is a non-negotiable aspect of any potential relationship. “Mistari bila pesa ni shairi,” she asserted, emphasizing that lines without money are merely poetry.
