Born in Baringo County, Kenya, in 1966, Prof. Kiplangat has always been an avid teacher and mentor. He has a Bachelor of Education (Arts) from Kenyatta University, a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Lancaster, UK and a PhD in Educational Administration and Planning from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.

His research interests focus on leadership and management in higher education, and the effect of leadership on staff performance and job satisfaction. He has published articles in his field and mentored many Master's and Doctoral students to graduation.

Deep Roots at Kabarak

Prof. Kiplangat has been with Kabarak for more than 30 years. Before taking on leadership positions at the university, he spent almost 14 years at Moi High School Kabarak, playing a key role in the school's outstanding academic standing. In his time, numerous alumni enrolled in prestigious institutions such as Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and MIT.

He also played a significant role in the formation of the University Council and served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Administration & Finance before his elevation to Vice-Chancellor in 2017. Under his direction, the university has experienced tremendous growth and positive change.
